10th International Telemann Competition

for chamber music ensembles
Magdeburg (Germany), 9 to 17 March 2019

The 10th International Telemann Competition is open to chamber music ensembles. We invite all instrumental ensembles that are dedicated to historically-oriented performance practice and that have a simple scoring of one instrument per part. All of the ensemble members have to be between 18 and 34 of age.

The jury is chaired by the internationally renowned transverse flutist and conductor Barthold Kuijken.

Prizes of EUR 21,500 in total can be awarded. For the first time in competition history, the best performer of the cembalo obligato will also be honoured. Furthermore, material prizes will be available and the prize winning ensembles can be presented with concert opportunities at prestigious early music festivals.
